Public Safety
Steve backs our men and women in blue, and believes that the conversation on police reform should not have taken place in a hurried special legislative session during a pandemic.
Steve supports maintaining school resource officers (SRO’s) in our schools. These specially trained officers not only keep our students safe, but build excellent police-community relationships and help to prevent incidents before they occur.
Steve is proud to have the endorsements of both the Trumbull Police Union and the Connecticut State Fraternal Order of Police – reflecting his dedication to keeping our community safe.
“We believe Steve Choi is the leader who will help keep the residents of Trumbull safe in his support for law and order.”
–Sgt. Robert Coppola, Trumbull Police Union President
Job Creation & Retention
As the co-owner and operator of a family business, Steve knows Main Street entrepreneurs need our support now more than ever. Easing financial burdens on small businesses and maintaining a stable tax rate are good first steps toward recovery.
Opportunity
For years, Connecticut has lost residents and businesses to big cities and to states with lower costs of living. Planning experts claim that suburbs are dying and that Connecticut towns need to become more urban to attract young people. Yet, in just a few months, the pandemic made plain the benefits of the Connecticut small-town lifestyle to city dwellers.
We have the opportunity to increase prosperity from beyond the tri-state area, but we need to elect a state senator who believes suburbs are not subpar.
